Irish Mist

Irish Mist has a superb head, temperament and limbs. He is forward thinking with a lovely attitude, short shins, clean flat bone and straight free movement, the best of feet with a good heel.

He passed his ISH Inspection with a massive score of 182 (200) one of the highest scoring. Stallions pass mark is 160. Henry passed the IDSH (UK) Inspection at 10 years of age quite an achievement only 2 passed on the day scoring highly for his athleticism he flew through 24 x rays the endoscope and a 5 stage vetting.

Irish Mist has excellent bloodlines linking him back to some of the most famous Irish Draught breeding which include Ben Purple, King Of Diamonds & Pride Of Shaunlara. Pride Of Toames of his 60 progeny on the Irish Database at the time had 57 fillies and 3 colts including prolific sires Grey Macha & O’ Sullivan. All of Irish Mist’s first foals have been filly’s eldest crop two year olds in 2018. He is tested homozygous grey so therefore all his progeny will eventually go grey.

We consider Henry to be an excellent choice for Irish Draught mares whose owners want to utilize his traditional Irish pedigree or to outcross for mares requiring more bone and substance. He has a fabulous temperament which he passes on to his young stock he has the ability to breed Hunters Show Horses Eventers and Working Hunters as well as quality all-rounders and cobs.

He is very fertile with excellent quality semen that has a very high motility older mares 21 years + holding in foal first time.
